LAHORE: Amjad Hussain Sabri now features in the list of renowned Pakistani showbiz personalities who have ironically died young—right at the peak of their professional careers. A few names that hurriedly come to mind in this context include eminent comedian Zareef, another famous comedian Zulfi, Chocolate hero Wahed Murad, comedy king Munawwar Zareef, film actress Rani, Nazia Hassan, Syed Sher Khan alias Saleem Nasir, actor Ismael Shah, actress Nadira, TV actor Bilal Khan, actress Khalida Riyasat, actor Agha Sikandar, actress and model Sana Khan, actress Marvi, actress Naina, actress Maria Khan, fashion designer Farah Jahanzeb, stage actor Babu Baral and legendary Punjabi stage comedian Shauqi Khan etc.

 

Five rockets  defused in Darra Adamkhel

KOHAT: Security forces defused five rockets in Darra Adamkhel on Wednesday, official sources said.They said the RPG-7 rockets were hidden in a pond in Razakhel village in the Akhorwal area of Darra Adamkhel.Acting on a tip off, security forces along with the bomb disposal squad officials reached the scene and defused the rockets. Political administration in Darra Adamkhel registered a case against unidentified militants and started an investigation.

 

Majid blasts PML-N’s interference in AJK affairs

BHIMBER: AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majid has asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to restrain federal ministers from vitiating the peaceful atmosphere of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The federal ministers’ dreams of election victory in the AJK would never come true. “We will block their way and no one will be allowed to trample the state’s identity,” he said while talking to party workers here on Wednesday. He claimed that the PPP would again come into power in the AJK despite roadblocks being erected on its way by its detractors.

 

Three killed as van plunges into river in Kohistan

MANSEHRA: Three persons were killed when a van plunged into the Indus River on the Karakoram Highway in the Pattan area of Kohistan district on Wednesday. The van was on its way to Mansehra from Chilas when the driver lost control over the steering while negotiating a sharp turn and the vehicle plunged into the river. Local people and police rushed to scene and fished out the bodies and shifted them to the Civil Hospital in Pattan.

 

Iran hands over 41 deportees to Pakistan

QUETTA: Iranian security forces handed over 41 Pakistani nationals to the Levies force on Pak-Iran border in Taftan area of Chaghi district. Levies sources said on Wednesday these Pakistani workers had been arrested from different parts of Iran by the Iranian security forces because they were living without traveling documents.
