LHC rejects ICA against appointment of Ishaq Dar as DPM

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Thursday rejected an appeal against the appointment of Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar as the Deputy Prime Minister (DPM).
A two-member bench, presided over by Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal, announced the reserved judgment. The court upheld the single bench decision, rejecting the petition. Ashba Kamran had filed the ICA against the decision of single bench decision.
The petitioner contended that there was no post of DPM in the constitution and that the prime minister appointed him as DPM illegally.
