ICC Women’s WC Qualifiers: Home dept wants army, rangers to provide security

LAHORE:The Punjab Home Department has requested the deployment of Army and Rangers personnel to ensure foolproof security for the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier matches scheduled to be played at two venues of provincial capital - Gaddafi Stadium and LCCA ground.

The spokesperson of Punjab Home Department said that one wing of the Pakistan Rangers and two companies of the Pakistan Army have been requisitioned to assist the police in maintaining high-level security. These security services will be in place until April 20. The tournament will feature six international women's teams: Pakistan, Bangladesh, Scotland, Ireland, West Indies and Thailand.
