Dare to drive?
The worsening condition of roads in Pehalwan Goth, Karachi has made driving in this area a test of endurance. The potholes are so deep and widespread that it feels as if our vehicles are navigating a black hole. Despite repeated efforts by the administration to fill these potholes, they reopen within weeks, turning the road into a never-ending construction site. This cycle has continued for years.
The vast majority of the city’s roads are in poor condition due to lack of maintenance, faulty drainage and substandard construction materials. Pehalwan Goth is no exception. Every rainfall exacerbates the situation, turning roads into ponds and making daily commutes a nightmare. We urge the concerned authorities to take immediate and meaningful action. A durable, well-planned road network is a necessity.
