It was heartening to read Senator Sherry Rehman's statement highlighting the damage caused by plastic pollution and to know that top officials in the government are looking at the problem. The biggest threat we now face from plastic pollution, in my opinion, is the contamination of potable water with micro-plastics.
The packet frozen food we get wrapped in plastic leaves traces of plastic in the food. This micro-plastic contamination can have adverse long-term health effects.
