Mardan operation: Nine victims laid to rest in Swat
Deceased, all from same family, were killed in an alleged drone strike previous day
MINGORA: The nine members of a family, who were killed in an operation against terrorists in the Babozai area in Mardan a day earlier, were laid to rest in their ancestral graveyard in Swat district on Sunday.
The funeral prayers for the victims were offered in the Ghalegay area here. A large number of people, including political and social figures, attended the funeral prayers.
The deceased, all from the same family, were killed in an alleged drone strike the previous day. The victims included women, children and elderly persons.
Political and social figures condemned the attack in the Katlang Shamozai area of Mardan and demanded an immediate inquiry into the incident.
JI leader and former senator, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Inayatullah Khan, Muhammad Ameen Khan and other political figures attended the funeral prayers.
The leaders called for an investigation to identify those responsible for the act and demanded government action to ensure justice. They emphasized the need for accountability and measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
