Traffic police to crack down on one-wheeling and speeding
Authorities have announced an immediate crackdown on individuals involved in one-wheeling, reckless driving, and illegal racing in the city.
The announcement came at a meeting on Monday after Karachi Traffic Police DIG Pir Muhammad Shah issued orders in this regard. The meeting was held under the leadership of DSP Security Saeed Arain at his office.
The meeting was attended by legal, South, Central, East, West, Malir, and Korangi DSPs, along with their readers. The DSP security briefed officials on DIG Shah's orders, highlighting a recent news report that raised concerns over reckless traffic violations.
The report specifically mentioned one-wheeling, dangerous motorcycle stunts, overspeeding, and illegal racing occurring on MT Khan Road, Mai Kolachi Road, National Highway, Super Highway, Sea View, and Gizri, posing a serious threat to public safety.
Following the traffic DIG's orders, strict legal action will be taken against all violators of traffic laws. Additionally, daily reports of FIRs and legal actions will be submitted via WhatsApp for monitoring and enforcement.
