KARACHI: Syngenta Pakistan has installed a solar energy system at its manufacturing facility, generating over 300KW of renewable energy. This initiative aligns with the company’s commitment to sustainability and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, said a press release on Saturday.
The company plans to transition its warehouses in Lahore, Multan and Rahimyar Khan to solar power, cutting operational costs while adopting eco-friendly energy solutions. At the inaugural ceremony in Karachi, Syngenta Pakistan’s Country General Manager Zeeshan Baig emphasised the significance of the shift, saying, “As a responsible corporate entity, we are committed to sustainable growth, fully aligned with Syngenta Group’s global sustainability vision.”
Syngenta aims to reduce its carbon intensity by 68 per cent by 2030, focusing on energy efficiency, renewable sources and sustainable supply chain practices, read the statement.
