Governor stresses national unity to defeat terrorists
LAHORE:Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider on Friday said national unity is vital to defeat terrorists.
Addressing an Iftar dinner arranged by him in honour of bureaucrats, businessmen and prominent personalities from different political parties at Governor’s House, Sardar Saleem said it is our joint responsibility to make the country prosperous and stable.
He said Pakistan is facing multiple challenges, including terrorism, and everyone must demonstrate national solidarity. The governor said the security and stability of the country and nation should be our top priority. He said our security forces are rendering matchless sacrifices to maintain peaceful atmosphere in the country and the whole nation is with the Pak Army in the war against terrorism.
He said the doors of the Governor's House are open to all political parties, saying the PPP has always been stressing the fundamental rights of the people and will continue to draw the attention of the Punjab government to the fundamental problems faced by the people. He said the holy month of Ramazan also teaches us about patience and tolerance. The governor said anti-state social media propaganda will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
