First-ever road safety theme park opens

LAHORE: National Highways and Motorways Police DIG Syed Farid Ali inaugurated the first-ever Road Safety Theme Park at Punjab University's Institute of Education and Research (IER) here Tuesday. On this occasion, Director IER Prof Dr Abdul Qayyum Chaudhry, SP Atif Shahzad, faculty members, officials, and students were present.

In his address, Syed Fareed Ali highlighted safety rules for the drivers advising motorcyclists that they should wear helmet and other vehicle drivers should use seatbelt for their safety. He stressed the need to obey traffic signals as well. He said that we should work together to overcome road accidents.

300-kg contaminated meat discarded

LAHORE The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Tuesday discarded 300-kg contaminated meat during a raid at a Haveli in Bakra Mandi on Tuesday. According to a PFA spokesman, the Meat Safety Task Force team recovered 300-kg meat and destroyed it. The accused disguised the meat of dead animals with the signs of cuts to show it as meat of slaughtered animals.
