Philanthropists urged to extend support to orphan students
ABBOTTABAD: Gallyat Tahafuz Movement (GTM) Chairman Sardar Muhammad Sabir has asked the philanthropists to join hands with welfare organisations for the support of young orphan students in health & education sectors.
He was addressing an Iftar dinner hosted by GTM for orphan students of Idara Tadreesul Quran at a local hotel. The event was also addressed by other notables, including Sardar Iftikhar highlighting the social responsibility while providing a platform for the students to break their fast and enjoy a meal together. A large number of orphan students, GTM members, and local dignitaries attended the event. A question-and-answer session allowed students to engage with GTM members and guests.
The event sought to support orphan students by offering them a communal iftar experience, encouraging social interaction, and promoting education and welfare. Renowned TV anchor, Malik Aurangzeb commonly known as Kashif Malik, also joined the gathering and covered the event on social media. He expressed his gratitude to GTM and the causes on which they have been focusing .
The Idara Tadreesul Quran chairman Sajid Awan, and Vice-Chairman Syed Kosar Naqvi addressed the gathering. They emphasised the importance of education and community support. They commended GTM for its efforts in aiding orphan students and contributing to community development. They briefed about the background of the orphanage and informed that it has historical background and offering it’s services to orphans & deprived students since 1940 .
The GTM, a civil society organization, has consistently worked on social welfare initiatives, particularly in education, healthcare, and community development. This event reflects their dedication to supporting vulnerable groups, especially orphaned children.

By bringing together orphan students and community members, the event not only provided immediate support but also fostered a sense of belonging and encouragement for the students. Such efforts underscore the importance of collective action in addressing social challenges and uplifting marginalized groups.
