Awami Tehreek rejects PPP resolution against six-canal project
“This resolution is a mere eye wash, lacking the genuine demand of Sindhi people,” say AT leaders
SUKKUR: The Awami Tehreek (AT) staged a protest at Lab-e-Mehran here on Friday, wherein the speakers rejected a resolution passed by the Sindh Assembly against six-canal project on River Indus, terming it a “drama”.
Addressing the protest, the leaders alleged that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had made a deal, as the passing of a resolution against canals project was a mere drama by the party leaders only to slow down the struggle.
“This resolution is a mere eye wash, lacking the genuine demand of Sindhi people,” they said, adding: “The Sindh government wants to endorse Cholistan canal through Council of Common Interests (CCI), repeating the same drama that they already made during the controversy of digital census where they passed a resolution in Sindh Assembly against the census and then took it to CCI and finally endorsed the same.”
