Rs1.85m released for cops’ treatment

LAHORE: Punjab Police released an additional amount of Rs1.85 million to pay for the medical expenses of injured personnel from various districts. The Compensation Award Committee, chaired by Additional IG Welfare Imran Irshad, approved the release of funds. While giving details, the spokesperson of Punjab Police said that Rs5 lakh each was given to injured constables M Waqas Khan and Usman Ali for medical expenses while injured constable M Riaz was also given Rs2.5 lakh. Injured Sub-Inspector Tahir Iqbal and Constable Gul Ahmed Khan were given Rs150,000 each for medical expenses.
