DIG Karachi Traffic Police Syed Pir Muhammad Shah on Thursday hosted a ceremony where Additional Inspector General Karachi Javed Alam Odho officially inaugurated the Karachi Road Accident Analysis Team(KRAAT).
The event was attended by and all senior superintendents of police (SSPs) of the traffic police. While briefing the attendees, the DIG emphasised that reckless driving was a major cause of road accidents, and in most cases, the exact reasons behind these accidents remained unclear.
To address this issue, a specialised unit named KRAAT had been established. The team would inspect accident sites, collect evidence, and determine the causes of accidents to develop preventive strategies. Effective road safety measures would be formulated to reduce the loss of precious lives. A comprehensive analytical report would be prepared and submitted to the relevant authorities.
