Shafay orders resolving investors’ issues by 31st
LAHORE:Punjab Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain directed the officials concerned that the legitimate issues of the investor group be resolved by March 31.
He issued these directions during his meeting with a delegation from the international electric vehicles company, who called on him in the committee room of the Department of Industries and Commerce on Tuesday. The investment-friendly environment in Punjab was discussed in detail during the meeting. The delegation head also apprised the minister of the challenges the investor group is facing in Punjab.
The delegation included the company CEO Shafqat Iqbal, directors of the company from China and other representatives. Additional Secretary of Commerce, Director of Punjab Investment Board and other relevant officers were also present at the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain stated that currently Punjab offers an excellent opportunity and a favourable environment for investment. Local and foreign investors are being provided with top-notch facilities. The issues of investors are being resolved under one roof through Business Facilitation Centres, he added.
He said that several Chinese companies have shown interest in investing in the electric vehicles sector. He invited Aerospace Baykee Group to increase its investment in Punjab and assured them of all possible support.
Progress on development of model cattle markets reviewed
Punjab Minister for Livestock and Agriculture Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani Tuesday chaired a meeting of the Marketing and Business Development Committee of the Punjab Cattle Market Management and Development Company. The meeting reviewed the progress on the development projects of the model cattle markets Shahpur Kanjran Lahore and Jhang City and suggested upgrading the infrastructure of both the markets.
Chairman Board Committee Ibrahim Tariq Shafi, CEO Taseer Ahmed, Board Members Dr Talat Naseer Pasha, Lt-Col Shahid Abbas Khan and FWO Project Director Col (retd) Mansoor Cheema also attended the meeting. Addressing the participants, the minister said the Punjab government was working to establish modern markets in Punjab to facilitate citizens and traders. He said new markets would be built in Shahpur Kanjran and Jhang to improve economic conditions of livestock farmers. He highlighted that the government is pursuing a policy of increasing the meat production capacity. The minister endorsed that the Livestock Department is taking stern action against those who slaughter female animals in slaughter houses and the department has issued clear instructions to the divisional directors.
