Axact’s channel imported equipment sans mandatory NOC

ISLAMABAD: The scrutiny of Pemra record has established that Axact channel company M/s Labaik had not obtained the NOC to import technical and broadcasting equipment, which was mandatory.
The Pemra record of M/s Labaik (Pvt) Ltd shows that neither the company was ever given any NOC to import technical or broadcast equipment nor had it ever applied for it.
All satellite TV license holders and distribution licensees are bound to seek permission/NOC from the Pemra to import any kind of technical broadcast equipment under relevant regulations and license conditions.
Pemra has also informed the federal government on this count.
It is already reported in the media that Axact hasn’t paid mandatory import duties and other taxes while importing technical broadcast equipment for its channels.
