Apni Chhat Apna Ghar plan: 18,000 houses near completion
LAHORE:Provincial Minister Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin said that more than 18,000 houses are nearing completion, and construction of another 7,000 houses will start by the end of this month under Apni Chhat Apna Ghar programme.
He said this while chairing a meeting regarding the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar programme here on Tuesday. Secretary Housing Punjab Capt (retd) Asadullah Khan gave a detailed briefing on the current situation and proposed targets. Chairman Akhuwat Dr Amjad Saqib and President Bank of Punjab Zafar Masood informed about the progress of the programme.
Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency DG Sikandar Zeeshan, on this occasion, briefed about different problems being faced in this regard. Addressing the meeting, the minister said that work is underway day and night to provide a roof to the poor and several houses have been built in the shortest time until now.
The minister clarified that Punjab govt was not just making claims but the work is going on rapidly on reality-based projects. All deserving people are being given interest-free and transparent loans for the construction of houses, he added. The minister said that one hundred thousand people will benefit from interest-free loans every year to build their homes.
