Liberty Chowk martyrs paid tribute

LAHORE:IG Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar paid heartfelt tribute to the brave martyred heroes and their families on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of the tragic Liberty Chowk incident, where six police officers and personnel were martyred during the attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team.
On this very day in 2009, the police officers and personnel courageously thwarted the attack on the Sri Lankan team but tragically gave their lives in the process. The martyrs included Traffic Warden Tanveer Iqbal, Head Constable Faisal Rashid, Constables Mudassir Nadeem, Zafar Iqbal, M Sultan, and Tipu Fareed.
