Man kills self after prolonged unemployment

LAHORE:A 32-year old man committed suicide hanging himself with a rope due to prolonged unemployment in the Gujarpura area.

According to an Edhi spokesperson, the victim, identified as Suleman Afzal, was a resident of China Scheme, Gujarpura. His family reported that he had been struggling with unemployment for the past two years, which led him into deep distress. On receiving the information, local police arrived at the scene and, with the assistance of Edhi volunteers, shifted the body to the morgue.

Suspect dies in police custody

A suspect in the custody of the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Squad (AVLS) Model Town allegedly died due to police torture, raising concern over custodial treatment by law enforcement. According to police sources, AVLS Model Town officer Afzal had arrested three brothers on charges of a motorcycle theft. One of the suspects, identified as Parvez, died under suspicious circumstances. Reports suggest that Parvez had recently undergone a kidney transplant, which may have contributed to his deteriorating health. Faisal Town police shifted the body to the morgue.

Man electrocuted

A 25-year old man lost his life after being electrocuted in the Shahdara Town, on Friday. The victim, identified as Umar Iqbal, was a resident of Qazi Park, Shahdara Town. According to his family members, the young man had gone to the rooftop of his house when he accidentally came into contact with electric wires hanging along the roof. The shock proved fatal and he died on the spot.Body was shifted to the morgue by an Edhi ambulance.

Youth shot dead

A 22-year-old youth was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the Nishtar Colony area on Friday. The victim, identified as Ali Raza, was reportedly on his way when three armed men on a motorcycle intercepted him and opened fire, killing him on the spot.

The attackers fled the scene after the incident. Police suspect that the murder may have been the result of an old enmity. Upon receiving information, police reached the scene and collected evidence with the help of a forensic team. Body was shifted to the morgue via an Edhi ambulance.
