HARIPUR: To educate school children about the dental hygiene and its importance in the overall healthy life, the tehsil administration of Khanpur, Education Department and Pakistan Association of Dental Students jointly organised a dental awareness camp here on Wednesday.

The dentists and oral hygiene experts from the public and private sector hospital attended the camp while Assistant Commissioner, Khanpur, Dr Tazeen Zafar was prominent among those who attended the dental camp. The dental surgeons and experts of oral hygiene gave orientation to the students of primary grades from different educational institutions highlighting the significance of oral hygiene that is linked to the proper dental care.

Quoting some best international practices and health specific religious norms, the doctors threw light on the common diseases caused by lack of dental care. At the camp, over 500 school children of primary grades received on spot free dental check-up and treatment and dental kits comprising toothbrush and toothpaste. “This initiative is an important step towards improving the health of children in the region as the children of the rural areas are in need of such education,” said AC Khanpur Dr Tazeen Zafar.
