Rain spell to continue till March 1

LAHORE:Cloudy weather with scattered rain was witnessed in the City here on Tuesday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.

Light rain was recorded in various city localities, including Abbott Road, Laxmi Chowk, Shimla Pahari, Haji Camp, Davis Road, Sundar Das Road, Mall Road, Johar Town, Thokar Niaz Baig, Multan Road and adjacent areas.

According to the Meteorological Department, another series of westerly winds has entered the country and rains were likely to continue in most districts of Punjab till March 1, 2025. Along with the rains, strong winds will also continue, warned PDMA.

Following the rain, Wasa mobilised its operation wing while MD Ghufran Ahmed instructed all officers to keep all main highways and underpasses completely clear. He further directed to keep the motors, generators and screens of all disposal stations clean and fully operational. All officers and staff should be present in the field so that water does not accumulate at any place, MD said and concluded that all directors should visit their areas and check the process of rainwater drainage.
