Fight child marriage

Child marriage remains a widespread issue in Pakistan, depriving countless girls of their childhood, education, and future. Teenage pregnancies further heighten the risk of life-threatening complications, with teenage mothers more likely to die during childbirth. While progress has been made to reduce this trend, significant gaps remain. Pakistan’s Child Marriage Restraint Act (1929) sets the marriage age at 18 for boys but only 16 for girls.

Sindh’s progressive 2014 law raised the age to 18 for both genders, but nationwide uniformity is still missing. By protecting girls from early marriage, Pakistan can foster a healthier, educated, and prosperous society.
