The PCB problem
Pakistan’s disappointing defeats against New Zealand and India in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy have once again highlighted the deep flaws in our cricketing system. While players are often blamed for their performances, I think the real issue lies within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), where political interference and poor management continue to damage the game. Team selection remains inconsistent, domestic cricket is neglected, and there is no clear long-term strategy. Meanwhile, other cricketing nations thrive through structured planning, investment in youth, and stability at the administrative level. If Pakistan cricket is to regain its former glory, the PCB must be led by professionals with cricketing expertise. Without urgent reforms, the national team will continue to struggle, leaving millions of passionate fans frustrated and disappointed.
