Helmet mandatory for loader, motorcycle rickshaw drivers

LAHORE:Wearing a helmet will now be mandatory for motorcycle rickshaw and loader rickshaw drivers in the provincial capital.

Strict action will be taken against those who fail to comply with this safety measure. According to the traffic police, a week-long awareness campaign will be conducted to educate drivers about the importance of helmets. Briefing sessions will be held, and helmets will be distributed to encourage compliance. Starting next Monday, traffic authorities will strictly enforce the rule, and drivers found without helmets will face legal action.

Tests for hiring of cops begin

The process of physical tests and necessary measurements has commenced for the recruitment of constables, lady constables, and constable drivers in various districts, including Lahore, for the recruitment of Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority.

The physical tests of the candidates are being conducted under the supervision of senior officers included in the Recruitment Board. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif approved the recruitment of 5,960 constables, lady constables, and drivers.

IGP visits smart police station

IGP, Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar visited under-construction Smart Police Station Islampura on Tuesday. The IGP inspected different sections of the PS and reviewed the construction work. According to Punjab Police spokesperson, the IGP inspected various departments, including front desk, waiting room, SHO and investigation rooms, lock-ups and Mall Khana).The IGP directed the authorities concerned to complete the construction by the end of this month.
