LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that now good news is coming from everywhere except Adiala (Jail).
Addressing a public gathering in Narowal, she said, “Letter after letter is coming from Adiala Jail with a submission to ‘save me for the sake of Allah’. There is no injustice in the system of Allah Almighty.”She said that an attempt was made to overthrow the government of Nawaz Sharif, but today, his brother is holding a government at the federal level and his daughter in Punjab. She said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had brought Pakistan out of difficulties.“I was surprised to see such a big public gathering in Narowal from a helicopter. It was being discovered that a pleasant change is coming among the people of Punjab and they are very happy. Under the ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ programme, the monthly installments will be equal to paying rent. Under ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ programme, we will provide loans to the people. 10,000 tractors have been given to the farmers at a subsidy of Rs10 lakh. ‘Himmat’ cards are being given to 60,000 differently-abled people. Under the minority card, Rs10,500 will be given after every 3 months.
Maryam said recounted the massive initiatives taken in health and education sectors across the province.The chief minister said, “Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz Sharif remain busy in serving the people day and night. If today is better than yesterday, the coming tomorrow will hopefully better than today. I promise to the people that I will work day and night in their service. With hard work and dedication, I have improved lives of the people.”
Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal said that the people of Narowal gave a record welcome to reception to CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif. PMLN made Narowal a city of knowledge.
MNA Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, MPAs Bilal Akbar Khan, Ramesh Singh Arora, Ahmed Bilal and Khawaja Waseem also addressed public the gathering. The chief minister concluded her speech by raising a loud slogan of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.
During the visit to Narowal, the Punjab chief minister inaugurated two road sector projects worth Rs2.09 billion. She laid the foundation stone of the Narowal Medical College project. She also laid foundation stone of the Children’s Learning Park for Narowal.
The chief minister also laid the foundation stone of 75-km-long Narowal-Muridke Road Phase II. 400 km of roads will be constructed and repaired in Narowal at a cost of Rs28 billion. She also reiterated the announcement of constructing the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway Link Road. The 36-km-long Narowal-Shakargarh road was constructed at a cost of Rs1.6 billion.
The 36-km-long Narowal-Shakargarh road was constructed in a record period of time. Narowal to Muridke Road Phase-1 was constructed at a cost of approximately Rs500 million. Narowal Medical College would be completed in two years at a cost of Rs4.4 billion. Narowal Children’s Learning Park would be completed in two years at a cost of Rs100 million.
“We will achieve the record target of constructing and rehabilitating 11,000 km of roads across Punjab at a cost of Rs320 billion,” Maryam said.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) President Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz met MPAs from South Punjab -- Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Rajanpur and DG Khan – and discussed matters pertaining to public welfare projects and future political strategies.
Talking to them, the former prime minister said, “Allah Almighty is making things easier as economic turnaround is likely. Reduction in the policy rate has increased the confidence of the business community. After tough economic conditions, inflation has decreased, and it is hoped that the people will get more relief due to further reduction in price-hike. Alhamdulillah, construction work has started again. International financial institutions are also acknowledging hard work and dedication of Shahbaz Sharif.
“Time has proven that opponents know nothing but displaying hatred, jealousy, using abusive language, showing rudeness and indecency. The PMLN holds an excellent record of serving the country and the nation in the area political, defence and development fields. If the continuity of development had not been broken, the country would have been far ahead in the region and the world, the people would not have had to suffer,” Nawaz said.
During the interaction the Punjab chief minister said, “The trust of the leadership, the party and the people of Punjab is a big responsibility. It is not easy to meet the standards of public service of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif.”
Senior party leaders Senator Pervez Rashid, Rana Sanaullah, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Rashid Nasrullah were also present in the meeting. Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channer, Provincial Minister for Irrigation Muhammad Kazim Pirzada, Chaudhry Khalid Mahmood Jagga, Sahibzada M Ghazin Abbasi, Malik Khalid Mahmood Warren, Mian Muhammad Shoaib Owaisi, Chaudhry Mahmood Ahmed, Muhammad Ajmal Khan Chandia, Aun Hameed Dogar, Sibtain Raza Bukhari and Nawab Khan Gopang were among those who met.
Provincial Minister for Mines & Minerals Sher Ali Gorchani, Ghulam Asghar Khan Gormani, Salehuddin Khan Khosa, Hanif Khan Pitafi, Muhammad Qadir Khan Leghari, Sardar Ali Ahmed Khan Leghari, Muhammad Ahmed Khan Leghari, Sher Afghan Gorchani, Pervez Iqbal Gorchani, Abdul Aziz Khan Dareshk and Khizr Hussain Mazari also attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, the Punjab chief minister laid foundation stone of state-of-the-art Saudi-German Hospital in Lahore Smart City by pressing a button along with Batterjee Group Chairman Sultan Sobhi Batterjee.
“Lahore Batterjee Medical City will have a total of 500 beds, while Saudi German Hospital Lahore, built at a cost of $250 million, will have 300 beds.” Maryam said, and added that Saudi-German Hospital Network is known worldwide for its modern medical technology and quality treatment services.
“The Network is successfully providing services in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Morocco, and Yemen.”
“I want to improve the entire health system of Punjab. Private sector should play due share in this regard. The new hospital will prove to be a milestone in improving upon public health and establishing a welfare society.”
