17 die on road in 24 hours
LAHORE:The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,416 road accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. In these accidents, 17 people died, whereas 1,659 were injured. Out of these, 748 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 911 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
Suspects arrested; arms seized
Lahore police detained several accused of different crimes on Monday. The police arrested accused Usman, Ghulam Mustafa, and Hammad and recovered two motorcycles and illegal weapons from their possession, rustlers Daniyal and Ali for stealing three goats from the Mughalpura area, a suspect involved in assaulting a domestic worker Iram Bibi, 12 kite flyers in different operations across Manawan, Baghbanpura, Hair, Factory Area, North Cantt, and Defence-A and seized kites and strings were from them. The police rounded up a suspect for injuring a 2-year-old child with an air gun, arrested a proclaimed offender Sher Khan, recovered hashish worth millions of rupees at Saggian checkpoint. The police arrested Umar as an illegal firearm was recovered from his possession, Shakeel over having shisha flavors, 21 suspects involved in robbery and theft cases.
