Names of candidates selected for chairman’s post in Sindh’s eight educational boards
The names of candidates for the post of chairman in eight educational boards of Sindh have been selected and a summary has been sent to the chief minister for approval.
In the summary, the names of Brigadier Syed Waseem Ahmed for Intermediate Board Karachi, Musharraf Ali Rajput for the Sindh Board of Technical Education, Muhammad Misbah Tanhio for the Matric Board Karachi, Mansoor Rajput for the Mirpurkhas Education Board, Rafiq Chandio for the Hyderabad Education Board, while the names of Dr. Asif Memon, Ghulam Hussain Soho and Dr. Zahid Ali Channar have been sent for the Sukkur Education Board, Larkana Education Board and Nawabshah Education Board.
Interestingly, a panel of three names has been formed for each of these eight boards and three names have been placed first, second and third in each panel, and these eight people are in first, second and third places somewhere. The summary also includes eight alternative names so that if any candidate refuses and does not join, a substitute can be appointed.
The search committee did not select a single name out of the 15 women, nor did any former or current candidates from the board qualify. The search committee interviewed 235 candidates in different phases. Some 25 to 30 candidates were interviewed in each phase.
The search committee was headed by Chairman Sindh Higher Education Commission Dr Tariq Rafi, while Secretary Boards and Universities Abbas Baloch, Vice Chancellor NED University Prof Dr Sarosh Lodhi, Secretary Sindh Higher Education Commission Moin Siddiqui, Secretary Colleges Asif Ikram and former Chairman Hyderabad Board Dr Muhammad Memon were among the members.
