The Sindh High Court Bar Association’s (SHCBA) secretary and other officer-bearers have disassociated themselves over a ‘joint statement’ earlier issued by the SHCBA president that supported the judicial commission’s proceedings for the appointment of judges and 26th Constitutional Amendment.
SHCBA Secretary Mirza Sarfaraz Ahmed, Treasurer Athar Ali Memon, Additional Joint Secretary Faiqa Amin, executive council members Zahida Kamal Alvi, Ubaidullah Abro and Mohammad Amir Khosa, and many senior bar members rejected the SHCBA president’s contention in the ‘joint press statement’. They asserted that they did not support the 26th Amendment and endorsed the All Pakistan Lawyers Convention in Islamabad.
