Tournament troubles
The ICC Champions trophy is going to be held in Pakistan, with the tournament slated to start on February 19. All of the matches will be played in Pakistan, except for the Indian team’s matches. Ever since the tournament was first announced the Indian cricket board (BCCI) has been throwing hurdles in the way. First, it refused to send its team to Pakistan due to bogus ‘security concerns’, something no other team or cricket board brought up.
Now, the opening ceremony for the tournament has been cancelled due to the late arrival of the England and Australia squads. Hosting the champions trophy has created so many challenges and embarrassments for the country but the nation’s many cricket fans still hope that there will be no more speed bumps from here on out and that we will get to enjoy a great tournament.
