I am writing to share my personal experience, which highlights the remarkable efficiency of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medical diagnosis compared to traditional healthcare. Recently, I experienced hearing loss in my left ear and turned to AI for initial guidance. I described my symptoms to ChatGPT and, within seconds, it suggested that I might be experiencing tinnitus and recommended consulting an ENT specialist. Following this advice, I visited multiple doctors, only to be asked to undergo a series of tests. The entire process stretched over one and a half months, causing unnecessary delays, stress, and financial burden.
To my surprise, after all this time, the final diagnosis from the doctors was exactly what ChatGPT had identified in just a few seconds. This experience made me realize the potential of AI in the medical field – not as a replacement for doctors but as a tool to speed up the diagnostic process and guide patients in the right direction without unnecessary delays. While I respect the medical profession and understand the need for thorough testing, I believe AI can complement healthcare by providing quick preliminary assessments and helping patients seek the right treatment sooner.
