GHQ attack case hearing adjourned
Hearing adjourns due to power outage
RAWALPINDI: The Special Anti-Terrorism Court has adjourned the hearing of the GHQ attack case against PTI founder Imran Khan and ex-foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, along with other accused, until February 12.
This follows the complete testimony of two more witnesses and a partial testimony of a third. So far, testimonies from 15 witnesses have been recorded in the case, with the 16th witness’s testimony partially completed.
On Thursday, the hearing was adjourned due to a power outage. In addition to Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Colonel (retd) Ajmal Sabir were presented in court during the proceedings. Others present included Fawad Chaudhry, Musarrat Jamshed Cheema, Shibli Faraz, members of the former chairman’s family, and lawyer Salman Akram Raja.
On this occasion, prosecutor Syed Zaheer Shah submitted 118 additional sets of case documents, totalling 248 pages, on behalf of the police.
In total, 118 sets of additional copies of the 248-page case file were submitted. Additionally, the police presented 118 sets of wing reports, comprising a total of 34,000 pages. Following this submission, the court adjourned the hearing.
In a separate case, Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Tahir Abbas Supra adjourned proceedings in the Judicial Complex attack case against Imran Khan, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and others without taking any action.
During the hearing, accused individuals, including Ali Nawaz Awan, along with lawyers Sardar Muhammad Shubhishek Khan and Amna Ali, appeared before the court. However, due to Imran Khan’s imprisonment, the trial could not proceed. The court adjourned the hearing until February 27.
A case against PTI leader Pervaiz Elahi and other party members has been registered at the CTD police station.
Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, also nominated in the case, has been declared a fugitive due to his continuous non-appearance before the court.
