Governor links growth to political stability
LAHORE:Provincial Minister for Health Khawaja Salman Rafique, Provincial Minister for Housing Bilal Yasin, Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Baitul Mal Sohail Shaukat Butt called on Governor Sardar Saleem Haider at Governor’s House here, Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, governor said that economic stability is impossible without political stability. He said that the province is currently facing immense economic challenges for which we all have to work together. He said that the PPP took concrete steps for the welfare of the people in its previous tenures. The governor said that development of education and health sectors and providing relief to the people should be the government’s priority. He said that provision of basic health facilities to the people and implementation of ongoing projects in this regard should be ensured. The governor said that provincial departments should also perform their duties under a coordinated strategy to solve the people’s problems.
He said that the government's efforts are yielding positive results, with Pakistan's economy showing signs of improvement. This upward trajectory bodes well for the country's future. He said that the young generation is the asset to the country and the nation and they should be provided with better opportunities to progress. On this occasion, the provincial ministers apprised the governor of reforms introduced in various sectors and the progress on development projects regarding departmental performance.
Meanwhile, governor in his message on Kashmir Solidarity Day said that Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan. He condemned Indian atrocities on Kashmiris and demanded the international community raise its voice for the oppressed Kashmiris for their legitimate right to self-determination. He urged upon all international organisations, including the United
Nations, to take notice of Indian atrocities on Kashmiris and resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions.
