Make Pakistan safe again

The alarming rise in street crimes across Pakistan has become a nightmare for citizens. Incidents of mobile phone snatching, wallet theft, and vehicle hijacking have become commonplace, especially in cities like Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. What is even more distressing is the growing brutality of these crimes. When people resist or refuse to hand over their belongings to snatchers, they are often fired upon, putting their lives on the line. The fear of losing both property and life has left citizens feeling helpless and insecure.

The root causes of this menace are no secret. Rising unemployment, inflation, and economic instability are driving desperate individuals to commit such heinous acts. Moreover, the lack of accountability and inefficient policing have given criminals a free hand to act with impunity.

To nip this issue in the bud, the government must act decisively. Stricter laws, better-equipped law-enforcement agencies, and public awareness campaigns are essential. At the same time, addressing underlying issues like poverty and joblessness is necessary to eliminate the root causes of these crimes. I urge the authorities to wake up before it is too late. People should not have to live in fear every time they step out. It is high time that we made our country’s streets safe again.
