KE to carry out maintenance work at Valika Grid Station: KWSC
The Karachi Water Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) spokesperson announced that on February 2 (today) the K-Electric will carry out annual maintenance work at the Valika Gird Station.
The maintenance is scheduled to run from 10am to 4pm, during which time the Hub Pumping Station electricity supply will remain suspended for six hours.
As a result, the West and Keamari districts will have a 28 million gallons daily (MGD) reduction in water supply. However, the Dhabeji Pumping Station will continue supplying water to the city as usual.
The spokesperson for the KWSC stated that Karachi typically receives a total water supply of 650MGD, and 622MGD will still be provided during maintenance.
Residents of West and Keamari districts are urged to store water in advance and use it carefully to avoid inconveniences.
The K-Electric's deputy general manager for grid system operations requested the shutdown for this annual maintenance work.
