City police chief emphasises importance of focusing on public service

Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho on Friday attended the graduation ceremony of the Traffic Management Course (139/140th Batch) at the Shahid Hayat Police Training Centre, Saeedabad, as the chief guest.

The event was also attended by DIG Traffic, DIG Training, the principal of the Centre, SSPs Traffic, and other senior police officials. The purpose of the course was to provide modern training to traffic police officers to enhance their skills in managing traffic efficiently.

During the ceremony, Odho presented certificates of appreciation to officers who displayed exceptional performance. Meanwhile, the DIG Training presented commemorative shields to the police chief and other distinguished guests.

In his address, Odho expressed his gratitude to the police officers and the administration, while congratulating the graduates for completing the course. He emphasised the importance of maintaining a friendly attitude, focusing on public service, and adopting modern traffic management practices. He also encouraged the educated youth to join the traffic police, stressing that only through professional training could the traffic system be improved.

Later, Odho visited the under-construction Maripur model police station in the Kemari District. During his visit, he inspected the progress of the construction work, toured various sections of the station, including the reporting room and lock-up, and issued instructions to ensure the quality and timely completion of the project. Odho reiterated that the goal of the model police station was to provide better facilities to the public.
