New KP IGP assumes charge
KP IG says gap between public and police force will be bridged and force will ensure protection of life
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s new Inspector General of Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed assumed the charge of his office on Thursday.
Outgoing IGP Akhtar Hayat handed over the charge to Zulfiqar Hameed at the Central Police Office (CPO). Zulfiqar Hameed was serving as an additional IGP in Punjab before he was posted as the KP Police chief.
Addressing the senior police officers posted at the CPO, the new police chief said that the welfare of police force was among his priorities. He said the KP Police had been heavily affected by terrorism and reiterated the resolve to utilize all available resources for the force and make efforts to obtain more resources.
He said the gap between the public and police force would be bridged and the force would ensure the protection of life and property of common man.
