Elderly motorcyclist dies after falling into drain in Malir

An elderly motorcycle rider fell into a drain and lost his life in the Malir neighbourhood on Tuesday. According to the police, the accident was caused by speeding, while the lack of a protective wall around the drain also contributed to the mishap.
Police and rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene, retrieved the individual along with his motorcycle from the drain, and rushed him to hospital. While receiving treatment, the injured man succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased was identified as 70-year-old Saleem Baig, son of Shamshad Baig. He resided in Malir Colony and was a retired employee of the Machine Tool Factory. Recently, he had opened a real estate agency in the Al-Falah area.
