Foolproof security for foreign investors: IG

LAHORE:IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar said that Punjab Police provides the best and safest environment for foreign investment and business activities. The Special Protection Unit, equipped with modern training and technology, is providing security to Chinese and foreign nationals, investors, and projects.

He said this while talking to a delegation headed by Fredrick Paul Robertson, the Vice President of the foreign organisation (Ericsson) who called on him at the Central Police Office on Monday.

The delegation included the Country Manager of Pakistan, Amir Ahsan, Strategic Threat Analysis Lead Mattias Loof, and other officers. IG Punjab briefed the delegation about the security measures taken by the Punjab Police for the promotion of foreign investment and economic activities in Punjab.

IG said that the coordination of the Special Protection Unit, Special Branch, CTD, Safe Cities, district police, and intelligence agencies is ensuring foolproof security for foreign investors. The IG Punjab also briefed the delegation about the working and community services of Punjab Police through the Central Police Office’s main dashboard. He informed the delegation that Punjab Police is dealing with challenges such as terrorism, extremism, and organized crime.

The head of the delegation appreciated the services of Punjab Police for the protection of foreign investment and the business community. Senior officers briefed the delegation about infrastructure development, welfare projects, community services, and technology-based reforms in Punjab Police. IG Punjab presented the delegation's head with the coffee table book titled ‘Thany Punjab De,’ regarding police stations in Punjab.
