Karachi, with its diverse economy and myriad opportunities, continues to attract people from all corners of the country. This influx has led to an explosion in population, placing immense pressure on the city’s infrastructure. The road congestion, along with the never-ending construction work, is a reminder of how the city’s physical space struggles to accommodate its residents. The lack of efficient public transport, combined with insufficient urban planning, makes moving around the city a daily ordeal. Moreover, the ever-expanding population strains essential services like healthcare, education, and sanitation, contributing to a decline in the quality of life.
Despite these challenges, the resilience of Karachi’s people shines through. The city, with its vibrant culture, resilient spirit, and entrepreneurial drive, continues to thrive amidst adversity. However, Karachi’s overpopulation problem requires urgent attention. Sustainable urban development, improved public transportation, and better management of resources are crucial to ensuring that Karachi remains a liveable city for future generations.
