Works of Maryam, Benazir introduced in Pak Studies textbook
This update aims to highlight contributions of women to Pakistan’s development
LAHORE: The new Pakistan Studies textbook for 10th class in Punjab will now include important women leaders like Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz and her mother, late Kulsoom Nawaz.
This update aims to highlight the contributions of women to Pakistan’s development. Alongside Maryam and late Kulsoom Nawaz, the textbook also features other prominent women such as Fatima Jinnah, Benazir Bhutto, and Bilquis Edhi.
Spokesperson of Minister Education Noor-ul-Huda said that the new textbook would be introduced from the new academic session starting in March 2025.
He said the textbook was being printed these days. He said that including these women in the curriculum was a significant step towards recognizing their efforts and inspiring students, especially girls, to achieve great things. “It shows that women have played and continue to play a crucial role in shaping the nation,” he added.
