PESHAWAR: “Ringside, Maidan-e-Amal” - a book authored by a noted United States-based author from the walled city of Peshawar, Dr Nasim Ashraf - was launched here on Tuesday.
The programme was hosted at the Khyber Medical University (KMU). Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zia-ul-Haq, Prof Dr Hafeezullah, Shakeel Durrani, academicians, faculty members, administrative staff, and students attended the function.
The ceremony began with selected excerpts from the book, showcasing Dr Nasim Ashraf’s experiences and his relationships with prominent personalities in Pakistan and abroad.KMU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zia-ul-Haq praised Dr Nasim Ashraf, a former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board and head of the National Commission for Human Development, for his services.
He described “Ringside, Maidan-e-Amal” as an inspiring biography that offered strategies for addressing contemporary challenges.Dr. Nasim Ashraf thanked KMU for organizing the launch event and referred to his book as a culmination of his life experiences. He expressed hope that it would inspire youth to utilize their talents on both national and international platforms.
The book provides a detailed analysis of post-9/11 US-Pakistan relations and has been widely appreciated in literary and diplomatic circles for its historical depth and critical insights.The Urdu version, “Maidan-e-Amal”, has also won appreciation as well.
