IHC CJ administers oath to two additional judges today

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Amir Farooq will administer oath to two new additional judges of the High Court today (Monday).
The Ministry of Law and Justice, with the approval of the president, issued a notification to appoint Senior Advocate Raja Inaam Ameen Minhas and District and Sessions Judge Islamabad Muhammad Azam Khan as judges of the High Court for one year.
The swearing-in ceremony of the two new IHC additional judges will be held at the Islamabad High Court Building on the Constitution Highway in which judges of the High Court, judges of the district judiciary, officials of Pakistan and Islamabad Bar Council, High Court Bar and District Bar, and other lawyers will participate.
The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) on Friday approved the appointment of senior advocate Raja Inaam Ameen Minhas and District and Sessions Judge Islamabad Muhammad Azam Khan as judges of the Islamabad High Court after considering and discussing their names.
Both the judges will work as additional judges for one year after taking oath and on completion of this period, it will be decided to appoint them as permanent judges. After the swearing-in of the two judges, the number of judges in the Islamabad High Court will be 10, but the seats of three judges will still be vacant. Courtrooms have been prepared for the new judges.
