Murad stresses need for embracing diversity in culture
Sindh CM visits St Patrick’s High School, his alma mater, to participate in Cultural Day celebrations
KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Saturday said that Cultural Day celebration signifies harmony, mutual respect and understanding among Pakistan’s diverse communities.
The chief minister visited St Patrick’s High School, his alma mater, to participate in the Cultural Day celebrations. The event showcased a vibrant display of diversity, unity and heritage, reflecting Pakistan’s multicultural identity ethos.
Speaking on the occasion, Murad took pride in returning to the school that laid the foundation of his values and personal growth.
Each culture showcased here adds a distinctive thread to the rich tapestry of our collective identity, he said and added that just like a symphony, where different notes blend to create a masterpiece, Pakistan is a harmonious composition of unique identities coming together as one.
He commended the students for their enthusiastic performances and encouraged them to carry forward the spirit of cultural pride and unity. He also acknowledged the tireless efforts of the faculty and staff in shaping young minds and fostering values of inclusion and respect.
Provincial Minister for Education Syed Sardar Shah, Archbishop Benny Travas, Chairperson of the Catholic Board of Education, and Rev Fr Mario Rodrigues, Principal of St Patrick’s High School, attended the event along with deputy principals, board members and distinguished guests.
The chief minister concluded his speech with a call to action, emphasising the need to embrace diversity and build a Pakistan rooted in kindness, understanding, and unity. He fondly reminisced about his student days and expressed gratitude for the lifelong values St Patrick’s High School instilled in him.
