Residents hold anti-drug rally
PESHAWAR: The Tanzim Tahaffuz-i-Naujawanan organized an anti-drug rally here on Saturday.
The participants marched from Ring Road Kabutar Chowk to Dilzak Chowk, chanting slogans in support of the provincial government and divisional administration efforts to make the provincial capital drug free. Addressing the rally, chairman of the Tehreek, Sajjad Waheed, said, “The success of this campaign has not only freed our streets from drug addicts but has also restored a sense of safety among the citizens. Those struggling with addiction are now being rehabilitated and given an opportunity to lead dignified lives.”
President of the Tehreek, Janas Khan Mohmand, said that transferring addicts to rehabilitation centres has significantly reduced theft and robbery, making neighbourhoods safer. He lauded the efforts of Commissioner Riaz Khan Mahsud and the provincial government for initiating and sustaining this impactful campaign. The speakers emphasised that the Drug-Free Peshawar campaign represents a transformative step towards a healthier and more secure community, urging continued efforts to sustain its achievements.
