KARAK: The anti-riot police force conducted an exercise at the police lines in Karak district on Thursday. A police official said that Kohat Regional Police Officer Abbas Majeed Marwat had directed the district police authorities to hold the mock exercise to check preparedness of cops.
During the drill, the policemen exhibited their skills to deal with emergency situations, violent protest demonstrations and disperse illegal gatherings and assembly of people. “The main objective of conducting the exercise was to enhance professional capabilities of the cops and to check their preparedness for an effective response in emergency situations,” he maintained.
The official said that the anti-riot squad also demonstrated their capacities and the skills to counter stone-pelting and other obstacles and combat harsh and law and order situations. “To disperse violent protesters by using modern technological equipment and gadgets along with baton charge and tear gas was also part of the drill,” he added. Karak District Police Officer Shahbaz Elahi inspected the mock exercise and gave tips to the police personnel to handle violent protests and harsh situations.
