PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Thursday criticised Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for his statements regarding the rigging in general elections 2024 and the subsequent formation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“Maulana, your political stature is not comparable to that of Imran Khan. If you have objections over the results of elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, you can open up bags of votes in the constituencies,” he said in a media briefing after a negotiation meeting.
Gandapur said that if meetings were taking place and positive progress was being made, it was the trust being developed.
He said that if Maulana Fazl had objections over the results of elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, they could open the constituencies.
He added, “Maulana, you have definitely been betrayed, the promises made to you were not fulfilled.”
He said that if anyone issued such statements, he as the chief minister would respond, urging the Maulana to name those who betrayed him, instead of talking about them.
Gandapur said that Maulana Fazl claimed his third-tier leadership would meet with Imran Khan, but Maulana, your own political stature was not even close to that of Imran Khan.
