MPAs protest minor rent of Gymkhana Club
LAHORE: A member from treasury benches in Punjab Assembly has announced a protest on the issue of leasing Gymkhana Club and said he will go to any extent in this regard.
During the Punjab Assembly session on Thursday, the government’s member Amjad Ali Javed protested over the issue of the Gymkhana Club, saying its rent was only Rs 5,000 per month. In the Punjab Assembly session, government member Samiullah Khan was also seen crying about the helplessness of the special committee constituted on the issue of the Gymkhana Club’s rent. He said that the rent of one Kanal of the Gymkhana Club was fifty paisa per month.
“We politicians are taunted as the elites, but if anyone wants to understand the elite, then just look at the issue of the Gymkhana Club. Now, no matter what political party, it can be seen that who is running Lahore,” he said, adding the Gymkhana Club was a big example.
During the session, government member Mumtaz Begum pointed out presence of dangerous stray dogs in Walled City while another treasury member Ahsan Khan declared Kanganpur a dirty area due to murder and vandalism.
During the official proceedings in the Punjab Assembly, the draft law amendment Punjab Tianjin University of Technology Lahore 2025 was presented. The draft law amendment Mir Chakar Khan Rind University of Technology Dera Ghazi Khan 2025 and the draft law amendment Punjab University of Technology Rasool 2025 were also presented. After the agenda was completed, Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan adjourned the session until 2 pm on Friday.
