SMEs engagement in CPEC stressed
LAHORE: Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) and the Chinese mission in Pakistan underscored the transformative potential of deepening bilateral collaboration under the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
PBIT Chairman Muntaha Ashraf held a strategic meeting with Yang Guangyuan, Minister-Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy, in Islamabad. Their dialogue focused on advancing market-driven projects under the second phase of CPEC and addressing operational challenges faced by Chinese businesses, particularly in Punjab.
Chairman Ashraf reaffirmed Punjab’s steadfast commitment to facilitating Chinese investments, emphasising PBIT’s central role in resolving bottlenecks and creating a conducive environment for foreign businesses. "We aim to provide Chinese investors with seamless support, ensuring their ventures thrive in Pakistan’s vibrant economic landscape," he stated. The discussion also highlighted the importance of expanding bilateral delegations, with a particular emphasis on integrating Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). This strategic initiative aims to diversify the economic partnership by fostering grassroots-level collaboration, creating new avenues for trade, and building investor confidence.
Both parties pledged to intensify efforts to cultivate a mutually rewarding partnership. Their shared vision focuses on increasing trade, investment, and people-to-people connectivity, setting the stage for a dynamic new phase of economic collaboration between Pakistan and China.
