2 MMC employees suspended in rape case
MARDAN: The Mardan Medical Complex (MMC management has suspended two employees allegedly involved in the rape of a woman.
According to the notification, Aziz-ur-Rehman, and Zakir Niaz, ward boys, charged in FIR No 32 registered at the Sheikh Maltoon Police Station, were suspended. A five-member investigation committee has also been formed to probe the alleged incident.
Police officials said that two employees of the MMC were named in the first information report in the rape case of whom one had been arrested and the other was at large. A statement from the regional police officer (RPO) said one accused Aziz, who was a Class-IV employee at the MMC, had been arrested while the other accused Zakir was yet to be held.
The RPO said police at Sheikh Maltoon Police Station were making efforts to arrest the second accused.
It may be noted that a 32-year-old widow (Z), a resident of Dubai Adda, was allegedly raped by MMC employees.
Later, the Sheikh Maltoon Police Station on January 4, on the complaint of the rape victim, registered a case under section 376 against two employees, Aziz and Zakir. The rape victim had recorded her statement under Section 164 in the judicial magistrate.
