KARACHI: After strict notice of the Sindh High Court regarding Saturday’s police action on the premises of the court, the PPP leadership is considering removing the newly appointed Sindh Home Minister Suhail Anwar Sial.
After the said action by the Special Security Unit (SSU) of the Sindh police, the Sindh High Court has started contempt proceedings against Sindh IGP Ghulam Haider Jamali, Additional IG Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo and other officers.
Sources close to the PPP leadership said that the party leaders decided to remove Home Minister Sial, who is said to be responsible for Saturday’s incident.A source, close to the home minister, however, termed the report mere propaganda of the PPP’s detractors. He said the minister has just taken charge of the ministry and he has yet to show his performance.
On the other hand, sources said that the Rangers and other agencies involved in the Karachi operation have serious reservations about the appointment of Home Minister Sial and they have demanded his immediate removal.
